Maker Faire

In 2010 Sarah and Lara Grant carted their soft circuits to the first Maker Faire held in New York where they had several soft sensors and interfaces hooked up to audio output for all to play and learn from. Soft, wearable, conductive materials were on display along with demos on how to needle felt using metallic and sheep’s wool.

In 2008 Lara had her first taste in teaching for the masses at the Pandora’s Trunk table. She gave wet felting tutorials throughout the 2 days of Maker Faire with few breaks, one being for a strawberry and whipped cream doused funnel cake. She was only happy to oblige the mass demand from the faire goers to learn the oldest form of textile known in history.
